Sorry for the late response and the inconvenience.

There was a permission-related error, which we have fixed. You should now be able to assign checklists.

Please note that if you cannot find a user in the assignment modal (see attached screenshot), it means that user is not a member of the project. Checklists can only be assigned to users who are members of the project.
